Expression Atlas release

The latest release of Single Cell Expression Atlas (SCEA) is now live. This includes more RNA transcriptomes of cells at the single cell resolution, including new species – Xenopus tropicalis (western clawed frog). We’ve also included many new datasets investigating Drosophila melanogaster (fruit fly) and Danio rerio (zebrafish) expanding the representation of key model organisms within the knowledgebase.

New datasets

As one of the larger resources for single-cell expression data, now there are 355 single-cell RNA-Seq experiments, consisting of 10,505,726 cells across 21 different species to explore in SCEA. As always, we aim to provide high-quality datasets carefully curated by our scientific curators and visualisation of cell clustering and gene expression profiling for cells passed by our standard single-cell analysis pipeline.

New species

Welcome to western clawed frog (Xenopus tropicalis), who has joined the family of SCEA species as well from this release! We are continuing our commitment to displaying data from a range of different species. Investigate how neuronal differentiation during regeneration happens in this little creature.

Key model organisms

The representation of key model organisms is expanded with an increased number of studies in Drosophila melanogaster (fruit fly) and Danio rerio (zebrafish).
