Paul Flicek becomes ISCB fellow
The International Society for Computational Biology appoints EMBL-EBI Associate Director as distinguished fellow
21 February, Cambridge – Associate Director of EMBL-EBI, Paul Flicek, is one of the twelve fellows appointed in 2020 by the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB).
The ISCB fellows programme was created in 2009 to honour ISCB members with outstanding contributions to the fields of computational biology and bioinformatics.
Paul Flicek has led the Ensembl project at EMBL-EBI since 2007 and has been an advocate of open data in a number of large-scale international genomics projects.
Flicek joins other EMBL-EBI colleagues as an ISCB fellow, including Rolf Apweiler, Alex Bateman, Ewan Birney and Janet Thornton.
