Fighting mosquito-transmitted diseases
EU-funded Infravec2 releases no-cost resources for scientists fighting mosquito-transmitted diseases
July 30, Hinxton – The European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) has partnered up with the Infravec2 consortium to make available data and resources related to the fight against mosquito-transmitted diseases. The Infravec2 consortium is an EU-funded resource dedicated to producing new insect vector control measures that target threats to human health and animal industries.
The partnership makes genetic and sequence-related data freely available to the worldwide research community via resources such as the European Nucleotide Archive (ENA) and the European Variation Archive (EVA). It also aims to encourage the adoption of data standards to aid in data interchange and distribution.
The Infravec2 consortium is also developing new reagents and reference resources, which are freely available to researchers to study insect borne disease. You can read the latest press release about the launch of the upgraded Infravec 2 online shop on the Infravec2 News website.
